Hey Guys, I'm a novice builder and have some of my own paws and tails but I would really love to sport a more professional quality set of ears, handpaws and a tail for this coming FC 2010. I know, I know, it's already December for fox's sake, and that only leaves a little under 2 months for this project. I'm not sure what all you awesomely talented artists have as availabilities in your queues and how fast a turn-around you can produce, but I thought I'd at least throw the idea out there to see what I got.

I am perfectly happy with picking up the partial from you at FC 2010 if you'll be attending. That way you don't have to worry about shipping. I'm open to all price ranges, specially for higher quality work, but I am a starving artist myself so I'm looking for the best quality at the best price.

Here's the specifics:TL;DR Full Commission Description behind the cut! )

Thanks guys!

I've noticed a steep decline in replies on everybodys journal. I myself could ht 20 or so on any given post. 2 could hit triple digits every time. I barely get a hello anymore and everyone replies in person to me rather than in my journal which is great but it leads me to wonder....

Where is everyfur hanging out these days? what journal or networking site did everyone migrate to?

please dont say facebook o.o

Hey.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some Pokemon-themed livejournal layouts? I'm looking to change mine and Pokemon is my first choice. (Specifically looking for either something with Giratina, something with Ghost-types in general, or something with Eeveelutions.)

Thanks for any help you might be able to give me. <3

i wasnt sure where to post this but thought this was a good spot. i recently bought some lovely fox fur from White wolf ; http://whitewolf.denofwolves.com/fur.html

she was very fast to ship my stuff. ordered friday and i received the fur today. was even placed as parcel post i still got the package in a timely matter. the fur was packaged nicely, all wrapped in a plastic bag and folded nice.

the best part the fur wasnt wrinkled. everytime i buy fox fur from crs its all wavy and crimped...ufgh. this was perfect and soft. the red fox was just as thick and nice as i remember :D

Hey folks! I wanted to give everyone a heads up, if you're at the con Thursday night and like to dance, come on down to Club Regent (Click for hotel map) anytime from 9pm to midnight.

I'd love to get an idea of how best to go about organizing the music, so I'm posting a poll. I only ask that if you have absolutely no intention of going, that you don't vote, so that people who are seriously considering have their voices heard.

Please note... there are several different nights of dances and DJs with different styles. I see a lot of new names playing this year, so perhaps FC's dance coordinator [info]neonbunny is working up a post to let everyone know who's playing what and when.

Having said that, if you come to the Thursday night dance (or probably most of the other dances), realize that requests are fairly unlikely. Most DJs that I know of put a lot of time into figuring out what they want to play and what order, making sure that everything fits together well in their set. If you come to one of my dances expecting Happy Hardcore, Dubstep, 60's hits, Rave or Industrial, you're probably going to be disappointed. If you don't know my style, the subsequent poll will give you an idea, and you're welcome to download any of my previous sets from my webpage. All sets have a tracklisting as well.

Minor caveats aside, I hope to put on a great opening dance for everyone and look forward to seeing you there. Fursuiters are welcome and encouraged. Thanks everyone for your feedback, and you're welcome to leave comments as well.

Well! I have Dr. Schrecklich ALMOST done! The last bits needed are footpaws (I have one, I need the other), RED hair (the grey is temporary) and pawpads for his handpaws. I had some, but they fell off. They were sewn on, and an hour later they fell off. And then I glued them on, and the same thing happened. I'm thinking of gluing then sewing. Might work? Thoughts?

Now, here's the issue with the hair. I have this perfect size patch of fur in white. It needs to be red. On a scrap of white I dry-brushed it red. I figured, you know, you can't always get the right color. Why no try the painting/dying ideas? The drybrush on a one by one square of fur took twenty minutes to do. I let it dry, then combed it out to make it soft again. It never did get soft. There was also a lot of powder coming off of it, and it turned pink. Has anyone drybrushed fur before? Any idea why it did this? Any suggestions on what kind of paint to use?

I'm thinking of trying to dye it next, but I don't want to use the sharpie/alcohol method. Not a big fan of the smell.

I'm almost happy with the head. I took suggestions from last time I posted him... even ones I didn't like. A lot of people told me to put a pink nose on him, and even more draw him with the nose. He doesn't have a pink nose. But whatever, he has one now. I hate it on him. It's not his character. But I kept getting told that he needs one, over and over. So here's your nose.

Original concept: i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee73/ms-manuscript/redhair.png
BIG images )

Well, there you have it. All he needs is red hair, pawpads, and one more footpaw. Thoughts?

What are your feelings towards smoking? What rights do you think smokers and non-smokers should have?

I will add to this because I would like to say something towards this issue. When I was growing up I grew up in a home with 2 parents that smoked daily and about 5 plus cigarettes a day around myself and my brothers. We were kids that suffered from asthma from an early age but my parents were addicted to this nasty habit and made it really hard for them to stop. I do not hate my parents but I do hate how addicted they were to something that is proven to alter your life and actually make it worse. We would constantly cough and had to use the inhaler and nebulizer a lot because of this. My mom tried to keep it hidden from my grandma for a while, but it was futile the smell was everywhere. She eventually stopped which was a great step for her. Our allergies and asthma attacks went down a lot, and now I only have to use an inhaler when I am around cats so big plus. Everything in our house smelled of smoke, it was nasty. The car, the clothing, our hair, everything just smelled like an ashtray. Another example to use is my friend CP. When we started hanging out years ago he would come and visit and at the time he was living with his parents. He came from a smokers home and his clothing, fursuit and bag smelled terrible. When he arrived from the airport we would have to put that bag in my car which smelled for a long time, same with the bag being in my house and the costume of course. The sad part is he never knew how bad it smelled until he moved out of his house and started living away from his parents. He now says that he apologizes for the smell being that bad. It really does kill your sense of smell, and I can't stand how bad everything smells. I can rarely enjoy food if smoke is around, it just infects it like the plague.

I am not writing this to insult my smoker friends. I love you guys but I hate your habit. While being in Europe I saw full swing how popular smoking is there still and really eerie how much it reminded me of my childhood and how sick I was all the time. I understand it is hard to quit, like over eating and doing drugs I am sure but I can never agree it is cool or OK for you. I rather not be around it, and I avoid it when I can. I rather breathe fresh air, smell my food and enjoy my clothing smelling like fresh flowers than smoke smoke smoke.

I got 2 aibos last year that were sold to me from a smokers home. To this day they still smell and I washed them down with a lot of orange 409. The stuff sticks to everything (the gears have tar because it lived in a smokers home how disgusting is that!!!). I am glad it has been banned in restaurants and certain outdoor venues. I really wish it was fully banned at theme parks as waiting in line people like to whip one out at times and it kills it for everyone.

In the perfect world I would say smoke it in your own house, destroy your lungs there. I rather not share the same fate that others that choose to hurt themselves daily. But that will never happen and I guess we will all enjoy killing ourselves with cancers sticks like it or not.

And please before you give me utter bullshit that smoking isn't as bad and so and so just can it. Smoking kills, gives you cancer, lung problems, babies with problems and the list continues. Please keep it away from me out of respect :).

As for rights I don't how to say what is what without being insulting. I guess we as non smokers have the right to enjoy being smoke free and being around public areas that are ok with this. We as non smokers should enjoy the natural right to fresh air. As for smokers, well you are kind of infecting the air with stuff that not everyone likes. I guess when you see an overweight person eating cake and they gain the weight they aren't spreading fat particles/calories/heath attack waiting to happen in the air, that person is only destroying themselves. So in a way smokers should keep it at home or in their car, stuff they own and places where they don't have to put others in a bad/unhealthy situation.

I'm making a suit of my character mange

(I apologize for the horribly drawn Abs ^^;)

But I want to put some muscles on it, like on Leo's suit

http://media.photobucket.com/image/little%20blue%20wolf%20leo%20fursuit/fursuitfracas/leo-bluewolf2009-c.jpg

Though i'm a girl, and i'm not sure actually how to do the muscles so if somebody could help me out?

also I can't seem to find the right fur colors for him. I found a perfect red at DF (the dark red shag).
but I can't find any other colors :\

and does anybody have any suggestions on what I make the mask out of? I would like it to be removable as well.

oh and eyes like where there's tear ducts, and you look through those instead of the actual eye, like in some of mixedcandy's suits. Oh, well like on leo's suit lol

This might be a bit controversial, but smoking is NOT an activity that should be able to demand 'rights'. The only place anyone should be allowed to smoke is in their own damn homesfour walled death traps. It is a nasty, harmful, despicable habit. I'm not saying it should be banned completely (though in a perfect world...) but you better damn well believe that I think that non-smokers shouldn't be forced to choke down your cancer fumes. Stay in your homes and kill yourself, thank you very much. Oh, and people that smoke around babies/children? That should equal jail time. Thanks for the cancer, ass hats.

No rights for smoking! Rights for those of us who care enough not to give ourselves cancer. No public smoking PERIOD. I don't give a flying flip if you're addicted. That's your own damn fault. Deal and pay up, suckers.

Tax it to hell and high water! Make one pack $45, I say. Tax soda, too. That's not a necessity. And candy! Seriously, people. Rights for smokers? That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

I have 2 favorite holidays and they pretty much come one after another. The first and obvious is Halloween because of the costumes, candy and events. The second is christmas because I am a sucker for xmas lights, songs, food, decorations and being with my family. I love the xmas tree with presents, how fun it is to sit around it and open them up which I did not do last year so very excited this year. I want to sit with my family, eat, chat and just relax. I am taking about 3 days off work just to do so with my family as I feel like I should be given the luxury to do so on the holidays. My grandmother is staying with us which is a treat, I really love to spend time with her. This year will be her first xmas without her husband/grandpa so that should be interesting for her I am sure.

2009 has been one hell of a messy year. The last 2-3 years have been getting worse and worse. It seems like as much as we tried to get on top work would pull us back down and we have been working odd schedules and such for a long time (messed up schedules put us in bad moods, burnt out and at times inspirations flies out the window). When you work on the same stuff years on end it wears on you. Being that we have been behind for over a year that really takes a hit hard on your wallet and your spirits. But like anything we are working through it and seeing light at the end of the tunnel which is end of the year for us or closer to around february but still close enough.

These next few months will be the heaviest we have seen with work, but we are so used to this mess that we should be able to tackle them. As always if delays happen, we do eventually finish them up with a quality piece of work. So with that being said I welcome a whole new year of normal schedules, me time, friend time and getting to work on newer projects and experimenting more. Maybe just maybe enjoying conventions again and putting con rushes behind us once and for all.

We have been closed for almost a year come February 1st when we re-open which is crazy as we have never been closed for that long. We have done it to be able to tackle a lot of the lists and make sure people are not waiting over a year when ordering a costume. I want less than 9 month turn around for full costumes so cheers to a new system of work :D

I will give a few of you a heads up that when we open it will only be for full costumes.

So welcome December, I hope to have an enjoyable xmas this year :D

I know I haven't posted anything in over 30 weeks, but I'm alive, lol. Might as well post something on here, since FA is down. I had a great time this past weekend. Bandit and I had a Furry Fall Get Together at his house. Not alot of people, but still had some fun. On Saturday, there were 7 of us. It started on Friday as Okwaho got there first. Later in the evening, Missy Da Dane and "Frank" got there. We talked and stuff like that. Went to bed, finally and got up Saturday morning with about 4 hours sleep. Everyone else got up and we made breakfast. Then my friends from Philly showed up, Shadow Runner and Vetren. Glad they got there safe. We all talked some more, then some of us suited up and got pics up by the windmills. That was cool. Then we got back and relaxed. I helped Bandit with getting dinner ready. We all ate then watched a couple of movies, UP and Tommyboy. After that, we all suited up and went outside and took pics on the deck. We stayed out until about 1:30am. Then came in and went to bed. The next morning, Shadow Runner and Vetren got things packed up, then were on their way. The rest of us went to a local diner and got breakfast. On the way back to the house, Bandit got a call from his uncle and aunt. They came for a visit. They were pretty cool and liked us. Then they left after a few minutes, then gradually, everyone left except I. I was staying until Monday. Bandit and I had the rest of the day for ourselves. Didn't do anything exciting and I will end it like that.
